The Chinese Gold Panda

The Chinese government issued the adorable Chinese Gold Panda bullion coin series in 1982, since then it has been a hot collectible item among coin lovers with its exceptional quality, beautiful design and images of the panda that varies every year (except for 2001 and 2002). Adding to the fact that the panda gold coins have relatively low mintage as compared with other gold coins like the American Liberty Eagle and Krugerrand, the Chinese Gold Panda often command a much higher premium than many other bullion coins.

The obverse design of the gold panda coin features the inscription of "People's Republic of China" in Chinese encircling the depiction of the Temple of Heaven in China. The reverse design exhibits the adorable panda design that changes every year.

The panda gold coin is offered in five denomination, including the 1/20 troy ounce, 1/10 troy ounce, 1/4 troy ounce, 1/2 troy ounce and 1 troy ounce. The Chinese Gold Panda has a purity of .999 millesimal fineness or 24 carats.
